The FIRST spare part every Glock owner should have on hand. |
After 3000-5000 rounds down range this egde wound spring will break. If you are dumb enough to have not changed it after 1500 rounds you deserve to have a mass firearm failure, so buy this when you buy your pistol, and keep it inside the box, ready to go. Every pistol I own has spares for it, and recoil springs are the most crucial, and important ones to have on hand. After 1500-2000 rounds the factory spring will probably NOT be performing to factory specs, so replace it. Would you drive your car 100,000 miles on the original factory tires?? Gen 2, Gen 3, Gen 4, a Glock is a Glock. It is the 1992 Honda Civic of handguns. If I could get a 1992 Civic new from Honda, I would take it over a 2017 Civic. I probably wont win any races or points for style, but I will get where I need to go, and that is what owning a Glock is all about. The barrel is good for at least 25,000 rounds, but parts do wear out, and this spring is the number 1 part to replace. The more goofy aftermarket stuff you put on a pistol renown for reliable performance, the more chances you take on losing reliability in exchange for performance. It takes less than 60 seconds to swap this part out, so when it comes time, do it, and be sure you always have at least one spare on hand. |
